CheapYagis. By Jim Wilson. 27-August-2015. Antennas VHF-UHF. I learned about cheap yagis for the first time at the Central States VHF Society's 2014 Conference. I attended VHF 101 put on by Marshall Williams, K5QE, and Kent Britain, WA5VJB. During their session, they had several of the students put together 440 MHz yagis.

Thisarticle describes the phases for the construction of a Yagi antenna. The calculations of the parameters are made using 4NEC2 software. This type of antenna is used for transmissions and receptions of electromagnetic waves. The project shown here refers to the frequency of 433.92 MHz.
Notknowing the BS, I can refer you to my design in the files section "Simple 2 El 6 meter Reflector Yagi.pdf" to give you an idea of what you need for a simple 2 element Yagi. I think there is also a three element posted. I also recommend the YAGI kit from BP which makes things a bit easier (although I did not have it for a few years).
2Element 30 meter Yagi Antenna - Dimensions and EZNEC plots for a 2 Element 30 meter Yagi antenna with 28 Ohm featuring 4.3 dBd Gain and a 16dB F/B with a good It is approximately 100 feet long, can handle the legal limit, and is easy and inexpensive to build. It is similar to a G5RV but a much better performer especially on 20 meters.

Manypeople can't mount a 40 meter antenna far enough away from other objects to eliminate detuning effects. See for yourself how bad this is with a 2 meter mobile station and an SWR meter--then scale things up dimensionally by a factor of 20. Thus, for proper performance, low-frequency antennas often need to be tuned in-place. When they're

Homebrew2 meter Yagi construction. • 2 1/4 inch x 48 inch Steel rods (I know they'll rust, it's just temporary to get it to work, I'll get aluminum later) I don't have any coaxial cable (don't know the best type to get) and don't know how to match the impedance of the cable to the antenna.
